Chef's Note

Slicing dried fruits to match the size of the nuts prevents them from settling at the bottom of your bag.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds

  • 1/2 cup raw walnut halves

  • 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

  • 1/2 cup dried apricots

  • 1/2 cup banana chips

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Instructions
  • 1

Place 1/2 cup dried apricots on a clean cutting board and slice them into quarters (about the size of a cranberry or almond) so they distribute evenly in the mix.

  • 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced dried apricots, 1/2 cup raw almonds, 1/2 cup raw walnut halves, and 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds.

  • 3

Add 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/2 cup banana chips, and 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips to the bowl.

  • 4

Sprinkle 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/4 tsp fine sea salt evenly over the mixture.

  • 5

Using a large spoon or clean hands, thoroughly toss all the ingredients together for 1 to 2 minutes until the cinnamon and salt are evenly distributed and lightly coat the nuts.

  • 6

Divide the trail mix into 3 equal portions (about 1 cup each).

  • 7

Pack each portion into an airtight silicone bag or plastic zip-top bag. Press out as much air as possible before sealing to keep the nuts crisp and prevent the mix from going stale during travel.
