Chef's Note
Chili often tastes even better the next day as the spices have more time to meld. If the chili feels too thick after reheating, simply add another tablespoon of water until it reaches your desired consistency.

Ingredients
8 oz ground beef
1 cup black beans
1 cup crushed tomatoes
1/2 small yellow onion
1 tbsp chili powder
1/4 cup cheddar cheese
2 tbsp water
Instructions
- 1
Retrieve the prepared chili portion from the refrigerator, which contains 8 oz ground beef, 1 cup black beans, 1 cup crushed tomatoes, 1 tbsp chili powder, and 1/2 yellow onion (which was peeled and finely diced before the initial cooking process).
- 2
Transfer the chili mixture into a small saucepan and place it over medium-low heat.
- 3
Add 2 tablespoons of water to the saucepan to help maintain a smooth, saucy consistency as the liquid evaporates during reheating.
- 4
Heat the chili for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon to ensure the 8 oz ground beef and 1 cup black beans are heated through to the center.
- 5
Once the chili is steaming and has reached a gentle simmer, remove the saucepan from the heat.
- 6
Ladle the hot chili into two serving bowls, ensuring an even distribution of the beef and beans.
- 7
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese (1/4 cup total) over each bowl before serving immediately.
