Chef's Note
If you are using leftovers from a previous night, simply skip the browning step and heat the beef in the skillet with the broth and soy sauce until steaming hot to keep it moist.

Ingredients
8 oz ground beef (80/20)
0.5 cup long-grain white rice
1 cup frozen cut green beans
0.25 cup beef broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
0.5 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- 1
In a small saucepan, combine 0.5 cup long-grain white rice with 1 cup water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 15 minutes until the water is fully absorbed.
- 2
While the rice is simmering, place a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add 8 oz ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles with a wooden spoon, for 7-8 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
- 3
Drain any excess grease from the skillet. Sprinkle the beef with 0.5 tsp garlic powder, 0.5 tsp onion powder, and a pinch of black pepper.
- 4
Pour 1 tbsp soy sauce and 0.25 cup beef broth into the skillet with the beef. Stir well and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until the liquid has reduced slightly and created a savory glaze over the meat.
- 5
Place 1 cup frozen green beans in a microwave-safe bowl with 1 tbsp water. Cover and microwave on high for 4 minutes, or until bright green and tender. Drain any remaining water.
- 6
Remove the rice from the heat and fluff with a fork.
- 7
To serve, divide the cooked rice between two bowls. Top each with half of the savory ground beef and the steamed green beans.
