Chef's Note
For the best results, use a serrated bread knife to slice your tomato; it grips the skin easily and prevents the tomato from squishing while you cut.

4 oz cream cheese
1 large vine-ripened tomato
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- 1
Wash 1 large vine-ripened tomato under cool water and pat dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Using a serrated knife, slice the tomato into 1/4-inch thick rounds.

Slice 2 plain bagels in half horizontally to create four circular halves.
- 4
Place the bagel halves in a toaster or under a broiler for 2-3 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crisp.

Evenly spread 1 oz of cream cheese onto each of the 4 toasted bagel halves while they are still warm.
