2 cups rolled oats
3 cups water
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons brown sugar

In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of rolled oats, 3 cups of water, and 1 cup of milk.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.

Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until oats are tender and the mixture has thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

Let stand for 2 minutes before serving. The oatmeal will continue to thicken as it cools.
