Chef's Note
For the best results, look for salmon fillets of even thickness. If the fillets have varying thickness, start cooking the thicker pieces 1-2 minutes before the thinner ones. The sauce can be prepared up to a day ahead and refrigerated to save time.

Ingredients
4 6-oz salmon fillets
1/4 cup honey
3 tbsp soy sauce
4 cloves, minced garlic
1 medium, half juiced, half sliced lemon
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp, chopped fresh parsley
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp (optional) red pepper flakes
Instructions
- 1
Pat 4 salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup honey, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 4 minced garlic cloves, and juice from half a lemon until well combined.
- 3
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 4
Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- 5
Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes, then remove to a plate.
- 6
Reduce heat to medium and add 2 tbsp butter to the same skillet. Once melted, pour in the honey-garlic mixture.
- 7
Simmer the sauce for 3-4 minutes until it begins to thicken, stirring occasionally.
- 8
Return the salmon to the skillet, skin-side up, and spoon the glaze over the fillets. Add lemon slices to the pan.
- 9
Cook for another 2-3 minutes, basting occasionally, until salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and the glaze has caramelized.
- 10
Sprinkle with 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (if using) before serving.
