Chef's Note
For creamier oatmeal, you can substitute part of the water with additional milk. If preparing ahead of time, store the oatmeal base separately from toppings and reheat with a splash of milk before adding fresh toppings.

5 cups rolled oats

Wash, core, and dice 5 medium apples into small cubes (about 1/2 inch pieces).

In a large pot, bring 7 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil over high heat.

Add 5 cups of rolled oats to the boiling water, reduce heat to medium-low, and stir occasionally for about 5 minutes until oats begin to soften.

Add the diced apples, 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon, and 5 tablespoons of brown sugar to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are tender and the apples have softened slightly but still maintain some texture.

Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 5 cups of milk and 5 scoops (150g) of vanilla protein powder until smooth.

Pour the milk and protein mixture into the oatmeal and stir until well combined.

Divide the oatmeal evenly among 5 serving bowls.

Top each bowl with 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 sliced banana, and about 1 1/2 tablespoons of chopped walnuts.
