Chef's Note
For the best flavor, toast the nuts and seeds yourself rather than buying pre-roasted varieties. The light toasting with maple syrup and spices creates a more complex flavor profile. You can customize this trail mix by swapping in your favorite nuts, seeds, or dried fruits while maintaining the protein-to-fat ratio. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
