Chef's Note
For an extra crispy exterior, you can broil the roll-ups for the last minute of cooking, but watch them carefully to prevent burning. These roll-ups can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake, making them perfect for busy weeknights or after-school snacks.

Ingredients
4 oz sliced pepperoni
10 slices provolone cheese slices
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 cup marinara sauce
2 tbsp fresh basil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic clove
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese with 1 tsp of Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes.
- 3
Lay out the 10 provolone cheese slices on a clean work surface.
- 4
Divide the seasoned mozzarella mixture evenly among the provolone slices, placing it in the center of each slice.
- 5
Place 3-4 pepperoni slices on top of the mozzarella mixture on each provolone slice.
- 6
Carefully roll up each provolone slice, tucking in the sides as you go to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- 7
Place the roll-ups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush lightly with 1 tbsp of olive oil.
- 8
Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
- 9
While the roll-ups are baking, prepare the marinara dip by heating 1 cup of marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- 10
Mince 1 garlic clove and add it to the marinara sauce, along with 1 tbsp of chopped fresh basil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- 11
Remove the roll-ups from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
- 12
Transfer the warm marinara dip to a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining 1 tbsp of fresh basil.
- 13
Serve the pepperoni and cheese roll-ups with the marinara dip on the side.
