Chef's Note
For extra tender meatballs, avoid overmixing the meat mixture and don't pack the meatballs too tightly when forming them. If you prefer a lighter option, you can bake the meatballs in a 400°F oven for 15-20 minutes instead of pan-frying.

Ingredients
8 oz ground turkey
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 medium egg
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup marinara sauce
2 oz whole wheat pasta
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- 1
Bring a pot of salted water to boil for the pasta.
- 2
In a medium bowl, combine 8 oz of ground turkey, 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, 1 medium egg, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 3
Form the mixture into 8-10 meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 4
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- 5
Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F.
- 6
While the meatballs are cooking, add 2 oz whole wheat pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package directions, usually 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain when done.
- 7
Add 1/2 cup marinara sauce to the skillet with the meatballs. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce is heated through.
- 8
Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked pasta and sprinkle with 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese.
